April – Applied Medical is named a 2022 Manufacturing Leadership Awards winner by the Manufacturing Leadership Council in two categories: Engineering and Production Technology, and Operational Excellence. The Manufacturing Leadership Awards honor manufacturing companies that are shaping the future of global manufacturing through digital transformation.
November – Contemporary OB/GYN magazine held a panel discussion with four renowned minimally invasive gynecologic surgeons about the vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) technique.
November – Clinical studies demonstrate the considerable patient benefits of the vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) technique – a new, modern approach to vaginal surgery. The vNOTES approach has been shown to shorten hospital stay, lower pain scores and increase patient satisfaction.
July – Newsweek, in partnership with The Leapfrog Group, recognized Applied Medical’s Alexis protectors and systems for the second year in a row in its Best Infection Prevention Products 2021 annual review.
October – Applied Medical launches the next advancement of the Voyant Intelligent Energy system with a new algorithm to enhance clinical performance. The Voyant system has the unique ability to accelerate learning through user experience. The system’s intelligence is embedded in the device key to store activation data from each vessel or tissue bundle sealed during the surgical procedure. Data extracted from surgeries is analyzed by Applied Medical to produce new algorithms to meet ever-changing healthcare needs. The newest algorithm offers multiple benefits to surgeons, including reliable hemostasis with average burst pressures greater than 3x systolic, faster sealing times, and an overall reduction in tissue adherence.
June – As a part of our commitment to rapidly respond to clinical needs, Applied Medical is pleased to introduce NP swabs for COVID-19 testing. Available in two 6” models with 70mm breakpoints, each sterile swab is designed, developed, and manufactured in-house at our Southern California headquarters. The swabs deliver clinical solutions to healthcare providers during these unprecedented times.

June – In response to the rising demand for affordable hernia repair devices, Applied Medical is proud to introduce the Kii Dissecting Balloon access system for use in creating the surgical working space during totally extraperitoneal (TEP) surgery. Available in both round and oval configurations, the new devices provide a cost-beneficial alternative for surgeons focused on delivering the highest quality care to their patients for treatment of inguinal hernias.
