November - Applied Medical's GelPOINT System was highlighted in a UMass Memorial Hospital video about single incision colon removal. August - Applied Medical's Alexis wound protector/retractor appears in a study in Liver Transplantation, which found that "[t]he use of a wound protector significantly reduced wound complications." In a multivariate analysis of potential risk factors for wound infections in living donor partial hepatectomy, "only the use of a wound protector was found to significantly reduce the risk of wound infections in an adjusted analysis."
